Job Description

 

We are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our dedicated finance team. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for you to develop your knowledge and skill set to progress your career within the business. It will involve working on your own and also working with Finance and other departments in the Company to review performance and aid continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

 

Reconciliations:

  • Reconciling bank transactions to supporting documentation in the accounts system.

  • Reconcile ancillary accounts including (but not limited to) American Express, Paypal, Lloyds & Deposit Accounts.

  • To contribute to the company's management information by correctly posting, producing statements and monthly reports and dealing with discrepancies and queries.

  • Make sure that the bank is imported to the accounts system on a daily basis.

  • Assistance with management account for international companies ( Epos Now LLC etc)

  • Have a organised and tidy filing system for all invoices, receipts, expense forms and other documentation.

 

Revenues:

  • Import all Barclays bank accounts.

  • To produce and process sales invoices and process postings into the accounts system.

  • To deal with invoice queries received from clients.

  • Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments.

  • Credit control of sales ledger payment terms invoices.

  • Fraud check protection on all card payments.

  • Processing and validating refunds per the refund dashboard.

  • Reconcile recurring revenue on a monthly basis.

 

Management:

  • Manage the vehicle assets inside SF to ensure the information in there is up to date and relevant.

  • Manage the motor vehicle insurance renewal.

  • Liaise with HR to inform them of any changes to vehicles so that they can submit P46 forms to HMRC.

  • When Financial Force is working properly, liaise with department managers and review financial performance.

  • Manage the reconciliation of petty cash, ensuring it always agrees at month end.

  • Proactive to review and improve processes to help efficiencies with workload.

 

Success Measures:

Day-to-day:

  • No unreconciled transactions on the bank

  • which are over 3 days aged.

  • 95% of refunds paid on or before the due

  • date

  • Month end finalised within 3 working days.

 

Warning Indicators:

  • Inaccuracies of posting to nominal codes and inaccurate VAT posting.

  • Refund queue overdue resulting in increased customer complaints

  • High volume of chargebacks

  • Clawbacks not being added on to

  • Salesforce when a refund is made.

  • High level of outstanding debt overdue.

  • Consistently not at your desk for 9AM ready to begin work.

  • Vehicles going over their mileage allowance.

  • Multiple occasions of sickness leave.

 

Person Profile:

The right person for this role will have:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced finance team to strict deadlines

  • A passion for customer service and a love for problem solving

  • Great administrative and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Passion to learn, grow and develop with the team

  • Strong numerative skills

  • Previous experience within an accounts assistant role or sales ledger role
