DevelopHER Award Inspiration finalists announced

Epos Now is the proud sponsor of the Inspiration category in 2017’s DevelopHER Awards, an annual not-for-profit awards ceremony recognising women who work in the technology sector in East Anglia.

The awards programme aims to raise the profile of women in technology in East Anglia, creating role models to inspire the next generation to become developers, technicians, project managers, testers and digital experts.

The Inspiration Award looks to celebrate women who have made positive steps within the sector, inspiring others and welcoming new talent into the industry. Epos Now’s COO, Hayley Johnson, had the difficult job of whittling down the entries to just three finalists. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on 29th of November.

So let’s take a look at the shortlist;

Lauren Razavi

DevelopHER Award Inspiration finalists announced

Lauren Razavi is managing director of communications and innovation consultancy Flibl Labs. An award-winning writer, Lauren began her career as a freelance journalist before being headhunted for a content strategy role with Google. Since co-founding Flibl Labs last year, she has built a global client base that includes household names such as Emirates, Philips and Royal Bank of Scotland.

"It's an honour to find out that I was nominated by my team at Flibl Labs, and a real privilege to have been shortlisted by the judges! When I began my career, there weren't a huge number of women to look up to in the technology space, so I'm delighted to be recognised as a female who 'inspires' others."

Hazel Cottrell

DevelopHER Award Inspiration finalists announced

Hazel Cottrell is the founder and owner of the Creative Content Company, a Peterborough based company helping businesses achieve more from their online presence. Hazel holds not-for-profit networking events, attending schools, colleges and prisons to present and inspire others to achieve more and show them anything is possible if they really want it.

“When I found out I had been nominated and then short-listed for the Inspiration Award I was over the moon. I try hard to inspire others, but to be recognised for doing exactly that feels wonderful. Being shortlisted for this award has given me yet another opportunity to show others what can be achieved from the average girl at school who wanted to achieve her dreams.”

Faye Holland

DevelopHER Award Inspiration finalists announced

Faye Holland is the founder and director of corporate communications company, Cofinitive, and chair of the Digital Connectivity Group in Cambridge Ahead. Recently named one of Cambridge’s most influential people, Faye is a regular speaker, spending time in schools encouraging resilience and engagement. She mentors new ‘rising star’ talent and is regularly called on to provide advice to start-ups and established businesses alike, based on her extensive network and experience.

“All activities that celebrate the participation of women - specifically in spaces where women are under-represented - should be encouraged. These awards are a testament to an increasing appetite to bridge the gap and celebrate our peers, and I am flattered to have been recognised as an Inspiring Women to work with.”

The DevelopHER Awards were inspired by the team at Norwich based SyncDevelopHER, who run regular meet-ups hosting female role models speaking about their experiences in tech and encouraging more women to join their growing community.
